Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg posted a picture on the social network recently while visiting Walmart’s corporate headquarters. The meeting has led to speculation that Facebook is looking to grow its partnership with the retailer.
When Mark Zuckerberg visited Walmart’s head office in July, he was photographed with Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Walmart executives.

Walmart is an important partner for Facebook and we look forward to working together to “deepen that relationship”, said the company in a statement to the Orlando Sentinel. Adding that it admired the company Walmart has built over the past 50 years, Facebook said it believed it could learn from the company’s experience and management team about “building a strong, durable and valuable company” for the long-term.
Already a major advertiser on the social network, Walmart has carried Facebook Credits (gift cards for virtual money that can be sent via Facebook games) since 2010.
